These are instructions for installing the open source Xoops Content Management System on your Bluehost.com account.
- Download the full installation file package from xoops.org
- Unzip or Unpackage the the tar or zip file
- Upload the contents of your Xoops folder to your directory of choice via FTP. (the files you want to upload are located in a folder called "htdocs")
- Login to your Bluehost Cpanel and click on the MySQL Databases button on the mainpage of your cpanel.
- Create a new database
- Now create a new user
- Now attach the user and the database you just created together
- Run the XOOPS Install script by pointing your browser to the base URL of your website (e.g., http://www.example.com)
- Bluehost already is preconfigured to meet all of the configurations that Xoops requires, so continue through the setup wizard
- Fill out your database connection information
- Hit next a few times
- Fill in your desired username and password
You should now have a fully working Xoops content management system running on your Bluehost.com web server. This installation should take you no longer than 20 minutes.
